Removing and installing door lock (front)
1 - Door lock (front)
q   Removing:
–  Remove door trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
–  Remove mounting panel → Chapter.
–  Unclip operating rod for door handle → Fig..
–  Remove bolts with washers → Item.
–  Slide door lock downwards out of the door.
q   Installing → Fig..
2 - Bowden cable
q   To remove, unclip from door lock -arrow c-.
q   Swivel Bowden cable approx. 90° downwards and detach from operating rod for door lock.
q   To install, engage Bowden cable in direction of -arrow a-, swivel upwards approx. 90°, and then clip into door lock -arrow c-.
3 - Cover cap
4 - Backing plate
q   Slide in sideways to install.
5 - Bolt with washer
q   20 Nm

   
Disengaging operating rod
–  If re-installing the same door lock, disengage operating rod -1- from operating lever at clip -2-.

Installing door lock
–  If re-installing the same door lock, disengage operating rod -2- at top of operating lever -1-.
–  If you are installing a new door lock, slide sleeve -4- downwards and push operating rod -2- out of clip -3-.
–  Before installing, engage Bowden cable -6- in door lock.
–  Fit door lock in door and secure it with the two bolts with washers.
–  Make sure the flexible operating rod on the mounting for the door handle engages in the door lock → Item.
–  Press operating rod -2- into clip -3- and push sleeve -4- upwards.
–  After completing the installation, pull securing pin -6- out of door lock.
