| – | Remove seat → Chapter. |
| – | Remove backrest → Chapter. |
| – | Remove side airbag module → Chapter. |
| – | Prise cover fastening strip out of backrest cover panel -7-. |
| – | Unfasten backrest cover panel -7- from clip -6-. |
| – | Pull out backrest cover panel -7-. |
| – | Disengage backrest cover at bottom rear. |
| – | Remove head restraint -8- by pressing button at left rod. |
| – | Remove head restraint guide -9- → Fig. |
| – | Lift cover and pinch off -A- staples -5-. |
| – | Detach padding -2-. |
| t | Installing |
| – | Cut out cover on vehicles with side airbag → Chapter. |
| – | Align cut-out in piping with slot in backrest cover panel → Fig. |
| – | Use upholstery stapler -V.A.G 1634- to fit new staples. |
| – | To facilitate installation, push back longitudinal rods as far as first transverse rod. |
| – | When fitting, staple transverse rods first and then longitudinal rods. |
