The pressure signal from the high-pressure senderG65
The pressure signal from the high-pressure sender -G65-

-A- Pressure at the high-pressure end of the refrigerant circuit in bar (absolute)
-B- Signal ratio of the square-wave signal
-C- Characteristic curve
  Note
t  As soon as there are no compressor shut-off criteria, the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- switches on the compressor (by actuating the air conditioner compressor regulating valve -N280-):
t  If there is a signal ratio greater than 12.5 % (corresponding to approx. 1.5 bar absolute) and less than 87.5 % (corresponding to approx. 32 bar absolute)
t  If the signal ratio is less than 12.5 % or greater than 87.5 %, the compressor is not switched on (the air conditioner compressor regulating valve -N280- is not actuated).
t  The signal ratio and the pressure calculated by the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- are displayed in the measured value block in display group “001” → Chapter
t  An absolute pressure of 0 bar represents an absolute vacuum. Therefore normal ambient pressure is equivalent to approx. 1 bar absolute. On the dials of most pressure gauges 0 bar is equivalent to an absolute pressure of one bar (recognisable by the datum -1 below 0).
t  The operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- switches the radiator fans -V7- to speed 1, independent of the pressure in the refrigerant circuit, as soon as the compressor is switched on:
t  The operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- switches the radiator fans -V7- to speed 2. As soon as the pressure in the refrigerant circuit exceeds approx. 16 bar (absolute pressure) (the duty factor becomes greater than 47%). If the pressure drops below 13 bar (signal ratio drops below 40%), the fans are switched back to speed 1.
t  The signal generated by the high-pressure sender -G65- is also used for engine control (the required compressor drive torque is governed by the refrigerant circuit pressure). Depending on the engine control unit version, the signal is displayed as a signal ratio in the measured value block. → Relevant Workshop Manual, Injection and Ignition System; Repair group 01
