Voltage value of the clutch travel sender -G162- cannot be adjusted –  Switch off ignition. –  Remove the coolant expansion tank -arrow A- and -arrow B- and place it to one side.

–  Disconnect the connector -1- at the hydraulic control unit because the hydraulic pump is able to start up even with the ignition off.

–  Loosen the pressure accumulator 1/2 turn. l  The hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir increases and the clutch engages. –  Tighten the pressure accumulator again as soon as the hydraulic fluid level stops increasing. –  Adjust the voltage value of the clutch travel sender -G162- → Chapter.

If the voltage value cannot be adjusted: –  Connect the connector -1- to the hydraulic control unit. –  Interrogate fault memory → Chapter, eliminate any faults displayed and erase fault memory → Chapter. –  Perform basic setting → Chapter. If basic setting is aborted: –  Repeat the test, or check the clutch travel sender -G162- → Anchor“Check clutch travel sender G162”. –  Perform test → Chapter „Basic setting cannot be performed“.

Checking clutch travel sender -G162- –  Switch off ignition. –  Remove the coolant expansion tank -arrow A- and -arrow B- and place it to one side.

–  Disconnect the connector -1- at the hydraulic control unit because the hydraulic pump is able to start up even with the ignition off.

–  Remove the clutch slave cylinder with clutch travel sender -G162- → 5-speed Manual Gearbox 085 DS; Rep. Gr.30. –  Reconnect the connector -1- to the clutch travel sender -G162-.

–  Switch on ignition. –  Read measured value block 002 → Chapter. Display on -VAS 5051 A-: –  Move the cable of the slave cylinder and check display in display zone -2-. l  Cable of slave cylinder pulled out completely: 0 … 1.5 V. l  Cable of slave cylinder pushed in completely: 4.4 … 5.0 V. l  The value must change in each case in a range from 1.5 … 4.5 V. If specified values are attained: –  Install the clutch slave cylinder with clutch travel sender -G162- → 5-speed Manual Gearbox 085 DS; Rep. Gr.30. –  Adjust the voltage value for the clutch travel sender -G162- → Chapter. If specified values are not attained: –  Check the electrical connectors and the wiring → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations. If no fault is found: –  Replace the clutch slave cylinder with clutch travel sender -G162- → 5-speed Manual Gearbox 085 DS; Rep. Gr.30. –  Adjust the voltage value for the clutch travel sender -G162- → Chapter. If the voltage value still cannot be adjusted: –  Contact Audi AG via the hotline or the importer.
