Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Wiper adjusting tool -3358 A-
Possible causes for wiper judder:
t  Scratched windscreen.
t  Wiper blade rubber slipped out of retainer or torn.
t  Wiper arm / blade loose or bent.
t  Wiper blades coated with wax or warped.
If none of the above are the cause of the “Wiper judder” problem, check and if necessary adjust the contact angle of the wiper arm before replacing the wiper blade.
Sequence of operations
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Actuate the “Flick wipe” function and allow the wiper arm to move to its end position.
–  Switch off ignition and take out ignition key.
–  Detach wiper blade → Chapter.

–  Place the wiper arm -1- in the wiper adjusting tool -3358 A- and secure the wiper arm with the locking screw -2-.
–  Compare indicated angle with specified value.
l  Contact angle: –2 ± 1°.
If contact angle is not OK:
–  Place the A/F 24 open-ended spanner -Item 3- on the wiper adjuster and adjust the wiper arm -1--arrows-.
–  Loosen the locking bolt -2- and pull the wiper arm -1- out of the wiper adjuster device.
–  Reinsert the wiper arm -1- in the wiper adjuster -3358 A- and fasten in position again with the locking bolt -2-.
–  Compare indicated angle with specified value.
–  If necessary, repeat adjusting and checking procedure until specified value is attained.
–  Detach adjustment tool and fit wiper blade.
