Encoding control unit

This function can be used to encode multi-function steering wheel contol unit with index “C”, “G”, “H” and “J” as follows:

t	Steering wheel version

t	Language version

The code must always correspond to vehicle equipment.

Procedure

–	Start multi-function steering wheel self-diagnosis → Chapter.

Indicated on display:

–	Press keys 0 and 7 (“Encoding control unit”).

Indicated on display:

–	Confirm entry by pressing Q key.

Indicated on display:

–	Enter code number in line with encoding table → Chapter.

Code: e.g. 00001

t	First position: 0 = standard

t	Second position: 0 = standard

t	Third position; language version: 0 = German

t	Fourth position; Tiptronic: 0 = no Tiptronic

t	Fifth position; steering wheel version: 1 = steering wheel for radio/telephone operation

–	Confirm entry by pressing Q key.

Encoding control unit

Enter code number  XXXXX     (0-32000)

–	Control unit identification and code entered (00001) appears on display.

–	Terminate encoding by pressing → key.
