Remove nuts - 1 - for brake master cylinder.

-

Where necessary, remove heat shield with retaining bracket.

-

Pull off brake master cylinder from brake booster.

-

Unclip brake fluid reservoir at Pos. - 2 - and pull upward and off.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, with special attention to the following:

-

Replace seal between brake master cylinder and brake booster.

-

Make sure that when inserting brake master cylinder it is correctly positioned on push rod in brake booster.

-

Press brake pedal down slightly, making it is easier to guide brake master cylinder into push rod.

On vehicles with ABS/ESP, initiate basic setting for brake pressure sensor(s).

For this, use Diagnostic Operation System (VAS5051A).

Perform ESP driving and system tests.
