Air Door Actuator / Motor: Service and Repair
Central Air Door Motor
Central Air Door Motor
Vehicles with automatically regulated A/C system
‹› Not installed on vehicles with manually regulated A/C system. Central door is operated via a flexible shaft on vehicles with manually regulated
A/C system.
‹› Check the motor: Connect both terminals "5" and " 6" in control motor connector to 12 V (DC), the motor moves in one direction until stop, the
direction of rotation changes by interchanging B+ and Ground. Use an adapter cable. Refer to => [ Adapter Cable for Activating Control Motors ]
See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Adapter Cable for Activating Control Motors.
‹› Perform Basic Setting of A/C system after installing a new control motor. Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in
"Guided Fault Finding" function
‹› Using Guided Fault Finding it is possible to check the control for the A/C electrical components, for example to check for interchanging during the
basic setting. Refer to Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function
Removing
-
Remove the instrument panel.
-
Reach through opening between left side of A/C unit and central tube (instrument panel cross member) and disconnect connector - A -.

-
Check DTC memory of A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) and erase malfunctions displayed if necessary. Vehicle Diagnosis,
Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function.
-
Perform Basic Setting and output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) of A/C system and check DTC memory again. Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and
Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function.
