AFFECTED VEHICLES

CONDITION

Air conditioning does not cool. Only 2006 and 2007 A3 models equipped with Sanden air conditioning compressors with the part number 1K0 820 803S
are affected.

This compressor type can be identified by the pulley.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

A/C compressor control valve N280 in the air conditioning compressor inoperative. The compressor generates no pressure.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Improved parts in production.

SERVICE

1. If pulley (Figure 1) is fitted, drain the refrigerant circuit and check the quantity.

2. Fill up the circuit correctly with R 134a according to the repair manual.
