Instruments - Clock Resets After Vehicle Sits A While

Affected Vehicles

90 Clock is Incorrect After Standing Long Periods

Condition

The clock displays the incorrect time after standing a long period of time.

Technical Background

The clock may reset when the vehicle stands for a long time when the ignition is switched off, the headlight switch is not switched to the "0" off position,
and the car is locked. This is due to a production change when the parking light warning light was removed from the Instrument Cluster.

Production Solution

Implemented a new software in the Instrument Cluster (J285).

Service

Vehicles with Instrument Cluster (J285) SW Level 0300

Only Coding must be changed

a. Select: Vehicle Self Diagnosis >> 17 - Dash Panel Insert >> 07 - Code Control Unit

b. Change the last digit in existing code from XXXX3 to XXXX8.

Tip:  Write down original coding before clearing it and do NOT change the numbers represented above by an X.

Example:

Code 33043 must be changed to 33048

Vehicles with Instrument Cluster (J285) SW Level 0400

Update the 17 - Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285) via SVM using code to SW Level 0420 (or higher) SVM Action Code:
NA8P90AC02

Tip:  The SVM Process must be completed in it's entirety so the database receives the update confirmation response. A warranty claim may
not be reimbursed if there is no confirmation response to support the claim.
