The measurement must be performed in curb weight position (unloaded condition).

-

Note measured value. It will be required for tightening bolts/nuts.

Before lifting axle on one side, the vehicle must be secured to lift arms of the hoist using securing straps T10038.

If a vehicle is not secured, there is danger that the vehicle could slip off the lift!

-

Turn wheel hub far enough until one of the holes for wheel bolts is on top.

-

Install Wheel hub support T10149 with wheel bolt.

-

Lift wheel bearing housing using engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A until dimension - a - has been reached.

The respective bolts/nuts can only be tightened if dimension - a - measured before starting work between wheel hub center and lower edge of
wheelhousing is reached.

CAUTION:
^

Do not lift or lower vehicle with the engine/transmission hoist below the vehicle.

^

Do not leave engine/transmission hoist below the vehicle any longer than necessary.

-

Tighten respective bolts/nuts.

-

Lower wheel bearing housing.

-

Remove engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A from below vehicle.

-

Remove wheel hub support T10149.
