‹› Cover all painted components to prevent damage that may be caused by the heat gun or the locking pliers.

CAUTION!
By heating the shear bolts, parts of the protective housing are heated intensely. Do not burn yourself on this! Make sure that only the
shear bolts are heated as much as possible, and not any of the surrounding parts. Possibly cover these parts.

Direct heat gun nozzle at the shear bolt of the retaining tab.

Switch on heat gun and heat bolt for approximately 20 to 25 seconds.

Then grab the bolt head with locking pliers and remove shear bolt. 

The procedure for second shear bolt is exactly the same.

Then, the engine control module (ECM) can be separated from the protective housing.

Open clips arrows and remove the engine control module.

Engine control module bracket: version 2

Unlock front connector from engine control module and disconnect it.

Pull engine control module (ECM) out from retainer - arrow  - (wiper arms in service position).

-

Release and pull off rear connector from engine control module (ECM).
