"Update - Programming" is NOT required.

If ECM software level (arrow) is lower than 0060:

-

Proceed to "PRIOR to performing Update - Programming" of the ECM.

Tip:

-

When performing the Update - Programming procedure, ALL DTCs for all systems are erased.

-

DTCs linked to Guided Fault Finding function tests will be lost. Therefore, always address stored DTCs for Customer concerns unrelated to
the Update - Programming procedure first.

Prior to performing "Update - Programming":

-

Select "Vehicle Self Diagnosis" mode.

-

Select Diagnosis function "00 - Collection services".

-

Select "Check DTC memory - complete system", which will interrogate all fault memories.

When DTC interrogation is complete "Function Complete" will be displayed.

Select back arrow on navigation bar to return to vehicle systems screen.

-

Select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics".

"Update - Programming" procedure, performing:

-

Select "Update - Programming" option at bottom of screen (arrow)

After selecting "Update - Programming" function, new software level 0060 is indicated along with approximate timing for update.

By selecting the forward arrow on the navigation bar, the programming procedure begins.

NOTE:  

Once "Update - Programming" function has been started, switching ignition OFF or disconnecting the diagnostic connector may damage the
ECM.

Similar screen appears.

The previous data in the ECM is erased and the new data is being transferred to the module from the flash CD.
