Vehicle Information
20 Rattling noise under passenger's side floor near glove compartment
Condition
Fuel line resonance (pulse) perceived as rattling noise from passenger's side floor or footwell area.
Technical Background
Fuel lines contacting vehicle underbody creating noise. This description only refers to casual contact between the fuel lines and underbody. Damage to
the fuel lines does not result from this contact.
Production Solution
Service
Position and install fuel line insulators (Part No. 06A 141 730 A) where indicated:

1. Remove right side underbody cover shown in Figure 1.
Figure 2
2. Locate black fuel line inside frame channel shown in Figure 2.
Final position of insulators should be located inside frame channel, where indicated in Figure 2.
3. Remove foam insulating block at rear of frame channel.
