MIL on (P0299 - charge pressure control negative deviation)

Condition

MIL on. DTC P0299 (Charge pressure control, negative deviation) is stored in the ECM data memory.

Technical Background

The condition may be the result of an abnormal Turbocharger Recirculation Valve N249.

Production Solution

Improved production.

Service

1.

Remove the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve from the Turbocharger Housing and visually inspect the rubber membrane for lacerations.

2.

If the membrane is lacerated (Figure 1) replace the Turbocharger Recirculation Valve N249.
