Steering Column Switch Module
General Information
The steering column switch module consists of coil connector with slip ring, Steering Angle Sensor (G85), steering column switch (lever switches for
the windshield wiper, turn signal indicator/light switch, cruise control switch), Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) and
ignition switch.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› dia. 2.5 mm drill; length at least 75 mm
Removing

If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or " Guided
Functions".

Select the function or path:

Follow further instructions on display of (VAS 5051B).

Extend the steering wheel fully and lower steering column.

Remove airbag unit and steering wheel => Body Interior
69 Removal and Installation.
CAUTION.
Risk of damaging coil connector.
‹› The coil connector and slip ring must not be twisted when it removed (secure it with adhesive tape).

Remove the steering column switch module trim =>
Body Interior 68 Removal and Installation.

Disconnect electrical connector - 4 - on Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) - item 1 - by removing fuse - 3 - - arrow -
and pressing release down.
