Slide belt height adjuster - 1 - upward and remove it from side panel.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

‹› Replacement seat belt height adjusters are always in bottom locking position.

‹› If belt height adjusters that were removed are reinstalled, they should be brought into the bottom lock position.

‹› Button - 5 - in upper B-pillar trim - 7 - must not be pressed during assembly.

Engage belt height adjuster - 1 - in side panel.

Install bolt - 4 - and tighten to specified torque.

Install belt relay - 2 -.

-

Guide slide - 6 - into profile - arrow - on belt height adjuster.

Install upper B-pillar trim - 7 -.

-

On a new belt height adjuster - 1 -, forcefully press slide - 6 - up (approximately 60 N). This removes seat belt height adjuster assembly anchorage.

Perform a function check after installing upper B-pillar trim.

‹› Seat belt height adjuster must latch with a click in all 5 possible positions (and in top position too).

‹› Button - 5 - must return to upper position by itself after being pressed.

‹› Belt relay - 2 - must swing into vertical position or carrier direction by itself after tightening screw.

If any functions did not work, seat belt height adjuster assembly must be checked; height adjuster may need to be replaced.

Bolt - 50 Nm

‹› If seat belt height adjuster is being removed for accident repairs, replace screw

Bolt - 21 Nm

‹› If seat belt height adjuster is being removed for accident repairs, replace screw
