Starter Motor: Service and Repair
BUB and CBRA Engine

Starter

Observe notes on contact corrosion => [ Contact Corrosion ] See: Battery/Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings. 

Removing

‹› When installing, reinstall all cable ties that were loosened or cut during removal in the same locations.

With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (GND) wire => [ Battery, Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting ] See:
Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Battery, Engine Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor (G70 ) connector - item 1 -.

Remove engine cover - arrows -.

-

Remove the cable tie - arrow - for the protective boot - 3 -.

-

Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.

-

Fold back the protective boot and remove the B+ cable on the starter solenoid.

Remove ground wire - 1 -.

-

Remove the upper screw on the starter.
