Steering Gear, Changing from Generation I to Generation II

‹› Generation I steering gears are no longer available as replacement parts.

‹› Generation I steering gears must be replaced with Generation II steering gear.

‹› On some vehicles, other parts may need to be replaced in addition to the steering gear. The following information explains the vehicles that require

this and the procedures.

The following parts listed must be replaced when replacing Generation I steering gear:

‹› The wiring harness must generally be replaced. Refer to => [ Electrical Wiring ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and

‹› The subframe must be replaced.

‹› Allocation of corresponding replacement parts.
