Removing

Vehicles with selector mechanism cover:

-

Remove selector lever handle => [ Selector Lever Handle ] See: Selector Lever With Boot/Selector Lever Handle.

Switch ignition off.

Remove cover for shift mechanism => [ Selector Lever Boot, Separating from Selector Lever Handle ] See: Selector Lever With Boot/Selector
Lever Boot, Separating From Selector Lever Handle. 

Vehicles with shift lever boot:

Remove selector lever handle => [ Selector Lever Handle ] See: Selector Lever With Boot/Selector Lever Handle.

Switch ignition off.

Remove selector lever scale illumination (L101 ) => [ Selector Lever Scale Illumination ] See: Selector Lever With Boot/Selector Lever Scale
Illumination.

All Vehicles

Remove the ashtray or storage compartment in front of the selector mechanism

-

Disconnect connector - A - from selector mechanism function unit leading to the vehicle wiring harness.
