Wheel Bearing: Procedures
General Information

General Information:

Load bearing components and parts of the suspension must not be welded or straightened.

Wheel bearings must not be subjected to load after loosening bolt securing drive axle at wheel hub.

If wheel bearings are subjected to full weight of the vehicle they will be overloaded, resulting in reduced service life. Therefore please note:

Procedure for removing hex collar bolt Hex-combination bolt of drive axle threaded connection, loosening and tightening.

Vehicles without drive axle must not be moved, or wheel bearing will be damaged. If vehicle does have to be moved, always note these points:

Install an outer joint in place of the drive axle.

Tighten outer joint to 200 Nm.

If the vehicle still needs to be aligned, the bolts and nuts which must be loosened during alignment work must only be tightened with tightening torque.
After performing alignment measurement/adjustment, bolts and nuts must be tightened with prescribed additional tightening torque!

CAUTION: For vehicles which are drive on public roads, all bolts and nuts must be tightened as prescribed!
