Test requirements

The Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic J743 fuses OK.
-
The Power Supply Relay (terminal 15) J329 OK.
-
Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts.
-
All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster, switched off.
-
Selector lever in "P" or "N".
-
A/C switched off. Ground (GND) connections between engine/transmission/chassis OK.

Ignition switched off.
Test procedure

Perform a preliminary check to verify the customers complaint. See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing

Start diagnosis

Disconnect the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic J743 electrical harness connector - 1 - by rotating counterclockwise.
Checking voltage supply, terminal 30
-
Using a multimeter, check the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic J743 electrical harness connector terminals for voltage.

Turn key on

Specified value: battery voltage.
If the specified value was not obtained:

Turn key off
