Bleeding clutch system > < Removing and installing clutch slave cylinder

Removing
–  Remove complete air cleaner housing → Rep. Gr.24.

  Caution
When disconnecting the battery there is a risk of serious damage to electronic components:
Observe the correct procedure for disconnecting the battery.
–  Remove battery → Rep. Gr.27.
–  Remove battery tray -arrows- (detach front of battery tray from air duct if applicable).

–  Use hose clamp -3094- to clamp off supply hose to clutch master cylinder.

t  In the following steps make sure that no brake fluid escapes onto the longitudinal member or onto the gearbox below. If this does happen, clean the affected area thoroughly.
t  Place a cloth underneath to catch escaping brake fluid.
–  Release clip -3- at clutch master cylinder with a screwdriver and disconnect pipe/hose assembly -1- or plastic pipe from connection -4-.

–  Disengage pipe/hose assembly from bracket -C-.
–  Release clip -A- at clutch slave cylinder with a screwdriver and disconnect pipe/hose assembly -B- or plastic pipe from connection.
  Note
-Arrows- can be disregarded.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:

t  Observe distinction between seals -2- and O-rings → Fig.
t  Renew damaged seals or O-rings.
–  Connect pipe/hose assembly or plastic pipe to clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder → Fig..
–  Clip pipe/hose assembly into bracket.
–  Bleed clutch system → Chapter.
–  Install battery tray and battery → Rep. Gr.27.
–  Install air cleaner housing → Rep. Gr.24.
