Removing and installing oil pump
   
Removing
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Remove bolts -4- and detach oil intake pipe -3- if oil pump must be renewed.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove baffle plate -2-.
–  Disengage oil pump -1- from toothed belt and detach.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Oil pump and sump - exploded view“
  Note
Fit new O-ring.
–  If no dowel sleeves -arrows- for centring the oil pump are fitted in the oil pump housing, install missing dowel sleeves.
–  Turn toothed belt sprocket by hand to check oil pump for ease of movement.
  Note
Renew oil pump if resistance can be felt.
–  Check toothed belt for oil pump.
  Note
t  Renew toothed belt if damaged.
t  It is normal that the toothed belt is slack after a certain running period; this is not a fault.
–  Engage oil pump with toothed belt sprocket into toothed belt and secure together with baffle plate.
–  Install sump → Chapter.
–  Fill with engine oil and check oil level → Booklet808.
