1 - Engine speed sender -G28-

2 - Crankshaft oil seal (gearbox end)
q   Renewing → Chapter
3 - Dowel sleeve
4 - Bolt
q   Tightening torque and sequence → Fig.
5 - O-ring
q   Renew
6 - Cylinder head gasket
7 - Centre hex stud
q   Tightening torque and sequence → Fig.
8 - Nut
q   8 Nm
9 - Bracket
q   For engine cover panel, high-pressure line and exhaust gas temperature sender 1 -G235-
10 - Bolt
q   8 Nm
11 - Nut

12 - Bracket
q   For engine cover panel and electrical connectors
13 - Centre hex stud
q   Tightening torque and sequence → Fig.
14 - Filler cap for oil filler neck
15 - Grommet
16 - Upper cover for timing chains
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Apply sealant when installing; refer to → Electronic parts catalogue
17 - Bolt
q   Tightening torque and sequence → Fig.
18 - Oil seal
q   Renewing → Chapter
19 - Sealing sleeve
q   Renew
20 - Timing chain cover (bottom)
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Apply sealant when installing; refer to → Electronic parts catalogue
21 - Plug

q   Tightening torque → Rep. gr.28

   
Timing chain cover (top) - tightening torque and tightening sequence
  Note
Bolts -3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11- are supplied as centre hex studs.
–  Tighten bolts in 2 stages in the sequence shown:
  A15-10753
StageBoltsTightening torque
1.-1 … 12-Screw in bolts by hand until they make contact
2.-1 … 12-9 Nm

   
Timing chain cover (bottom) - tightening torque and tightening sequence
  Note
Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle.
–  Tighten bolts in 6 stages:
  A15-10591
StageBoltsTightening torque
1.-1 ... 6- and -arrows-Screw in bolts by hand until they make contact
2.-arrows-5 Nm
3.-1 … 6-8 Nm in diagonal sequence
4.-arrows-8 Nm
5.-1 … 6-20 Nm in diagonal sequence
6.-arrows-turn 90° further
