Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
Stress-free alignment of exhaust system
l  The exhaust system must be aligned when it is cool.
   
–  Loosen bolts of clamp → Item.
–  Push rear section of exhaust system towards front of vehicle -arrow- so that mounting → Item between centre and rear silencer is preloaded by -a- = 13 ... 17 mm.

–  Fit clamp in horizontal position.
l  Bolt connection faces to right.
–  Tighten clamp evenly to 40 Nm.

Aligning tailpipes
–  Align rear silencer so that there is an equal distance -a- and -b- between the cut-out in the bumper and the pipe ends.
–  If necessary, loosen mountings for rear silencer to adjust the tailpipes.
