Removing and installing fuel filter with fuel pressure limiting valve (vehicles with FSI engine from approx. 06.2004 onwards and all vehicles with TFSI engine)
Removing and installing fuel filter with fuel pressure limiting valve (vehicles with FSI engine from approx. 06.2004 onwards and all vehicles with TFSI engine)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Drip tray
Removing
Observe safety precautions → Chapter.
Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
   
–  Place drip tray below fuel filter.
  WARNING
Risk of injury - fuel system operates under high pressure.
To reduce the pressure in the fuel system, wrap a clean cloth around the connection and carefully loosen the connection.
–  Disconnect fuel pipes -1-, -2- and -3- by pressing the release tabs.
–  Remove bolt -4-.
–  Remove fuel filter.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
Installation position:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
l  Flow direction is marked with arrows on filter housing.
l  Pin -2- on filter housing must engage in opening on filter bracket guide -1-.
