Intake Camshaft Balance Shaft

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Removing

‹› The intake camshaft balance shaft must be replaced after removal.

Remove the coolant pump toothed belt. Refer to => [ Coolant Pump Toothed Belt ] See: Water Pump/Service and Repair/Coolant Pump Toothed
Belt.

Remove the camshaft timing chain. Refer to => [ Camshaft Timing Chain ] See: Timing Components/Timing Chain/Service and Repair/Camshaft
Timing Chain.

Remove the balance shaft timing chain. Refer to => [ Balance Shaft Timing Chain ] See: Cylinder Block Assembly/Balance Shaft Chain/Service
and Repair/Balance Shaft Timing Chain.

Remove the intermediate shaft sprocket - 1 -.

Remove the bolt - 2 - on the intake camshaft balance shaft.
