9 - Mechanical single-piston high-pressure pump 

‹› With fuel pressure regulator valve (N276) 

‹› There is an electric fuel pump located in tank that supplies the fuel to the mechanical high pressure pump.

‹› When installing high-pressure pump, make sure that no dirt enters the fuel system.

‹› The fuel system must be pressureless to install high-pressure pump, releasing fuel pressure => [ Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection

System ] See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair.

‹› Do not install fuel lines with tension

‹› Removing and installing => [ High Pressure Pump ] See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pump/Service and

Repair/High Pressure Pump.

10 - Roller tappet

‹› Remains inserted in vacuum pump after removing high-pressure pump, removable

11 - Connection for fuel supply line to fuel rail 

‹› Replace

‹› 22 Nm

12 - High pressure fuel line

‹› Do not install fuel lines with tension

‹› 17 Nm

13 - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve (N316)

14 - Fuel injector

‹› Replace O-ring and Teflon ring

‹› Note correct installation position

‹› Removing and installing => [ Fuel Injectors ] See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair.

15 - Intake manifold support

16 - Bolt for intake manifold support

‹› 23 Nm

17 - Nut for intake manifold support

‹› 10 Nm

18 - Bolts for throttle valve control module (J338)

‹› 4 pieces

‹› 5 Nm

19 - Throttle valve control module (J338), throttle drive (for Electronic Power Control (EPC)) (G186), 

‹›  Throttle drive angle sensor 1 (for Electronic Power Control (EPC)) (G187) and throttle drive angle sensor 2 (for Electronic Power Control

(EPC)) (G188)

‹› After replacing Throttle valve control module ( J338), it must be adapted to engine control module (J623); see vehicle diagnosis, testing and

information system (VAS 5051B) "Guided Functions"
