A3 Quattro L4-2.0L Turbo (CBFA) (2009)
‹› Connection between control motor toothed gears and air flow door is designed so that control motor can be removed without difficulty only in the
" fresh air mode" position.
‹› If motor is found in a different position and can no longer be moved, motor cannot be simply pulled off, rather it must be loosened first with great
force from mounting points - B -, ensure that toothed gear - C - is not damaged when doing this.
Installing
‹› Motor as replacement part is delivered in the "fresh air mode " position, only when toothed gear - A - contacts stop - B - can it then be connected
onto toothed gear of air flow door. If a motor was removed in a different position or activated in the removed state, it cannot be installed.
‹› If control motor toothed gear - A - is not located at stop - B - "fresh air mode", connect terminals 5 and 6 of control motor via a 5 A fuse to a 12 V
battery e.g. using an adapter cable. Refer to => [ Adapter Cable for Activating Control Motors ] See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and
General Diagnostics/Adapter Cable for Activating Control Motors or an adapter wire from Connector Test Kit (V.A.G 1594 C).
-
Control motor moves in one direction until it reaches stop, direction of rotation can be changed by interchanging Plus and Minus.
-
Activate control motor for as long until toothed gear - A - reaches stop "fresh air mode" - B - (see Figure).
-
Before installing control motor, check bearing of air flow door in intake housing and of toothed gear - C - (air flow door is opened, fresh air
mode).
