‹› A second technician is required to remove rear portion of exhaust system.

Remove rear mountings for the rear muffler and remove the rear portion of the exhaust system.

Remove heat shield - arrows -.

-

Place Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) under the subframe for support.

Place a block of wood - 1 - between Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) and subframe.

-

Remove rear bolts - arrows - at left and right of subframe.

-

Slowly lower subframe using engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A) until distance between subframe (left) and body achieves dimension - a -.
