‹› After connecting, press in securing clip
‹› ensure it has engaged securely

Side Curtain Airbag
Removing

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off.

Remove headliner. Refer to => [ Headliner ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Roof Trim.

Disconnect electrical connector - 6 - by opening securing clip - 5 - with a screwdriver.
‹› There are different versions of the electrical connector. To disconnect the other electrical connector, proceed as follows. Refer to => [ Side curtain
airbag connector, disconnecting (other version) ]

Remove cap nut - 3 - on ground pins.

Remove bolts - 1 -, - 2 -, - 7 - and - 9 to 13 -.

Disengage side curtain airbag at retaining hooks - arrow -.
Installing
‹› Replace self-locking nuts and screws when assembling.

Position gas generator - 4 - on ground pins.

Tighten the bolt - 2 - on the gas generator by hand.

Tighten cap nut.

Engage retaining tab - 14 - on side curtain airbag - 8 - in mount - arrow A -.

Press securing pins - B arrows - into body.

Tighten bolts in sequence - 2 -, - 1 -, - 7 - and - 9 through 13 -.

When connecting connector - 6 -, ensure it engages securely and securing clip - 5 - is installed.
