Belt Tensioner Connector

Belt Roller/Belt Tensioner

Removing

-

Remove lower A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Trim.

-

Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to => [ Rear Bench Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear
Seats. 

-

Remove sill panel trim. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Trim. 

-

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Refer to.

-

Remove bolt - 10 - on outer floor assembly anchorage point.

-

Remove upper B-pillar trim.

-

Remove the bolt - 4 -.

-

Remove belt relay - 6 -.

-

Disconnect connector - 7 - from belt roller/belt tensioner. Refer to => [ Connector and connector lock, disconnecting

from or connecting to belt roller/belt tensioner ].

-

Remove the bolt - 1 -.

-

Disengage belt roller/belt tensioner - 8 -.

-

Remove front three-point seatbelt - 2 -.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

-

Make sure the bell roller/tensioner - 8 - is correctly installed into the side panel. Refer to => [ Belt roller/belt tensioner, engaging in side panel ]. 

-

Make sure the connector - 7 - and the connector lock are installed all the way on. Refer to => [ Connector and connector lock, disconnecting from
or connecting to belt roller/belt tensioner ]. 

-

After installing belt relay - 6 -, it must swing into carrier direction.

-

Ensure three-point seat belt is not obstructed by wires, insulation, etc.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may
deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. 

‹› If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.

Outside Floor Assembly Anchorage Point

Bolt - 55 Nm

‹› If three-point seat belt is being removed for accident repairs, replace bolt.
