Steering Lock Housing
Lock Cylinder and Ignition Switch with Steering Lock
‹› The immobilizer induction coil is attached to the lock cylinder and cannot be replaced separately.
‹› If induction coil is faulty, lock cylinder must be replaced.
‹› When replacing the lock cylinder, follow the instructions regarding the immobilizer induction coil => Electrical Equipment - General

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Angled hand drill
‹› dia. 8.5 mm drill
Removing

Extend the steering wheel fully and lower steering column.

Remove airbag unit and steering wheel => Body Interior
69 Removal and Installation.
CAUTION.
Risk of damaging coil connector.
‹› Coil connector with slip ring is not to be turned following removal.
‹› Secure the coil connector and slip ring in the installation position with adhesive tape.

Remove the steering column switch module trim =>
Body Interior 68 Removal and Installation.

Drill out shear bolts - arrows - with an angled hand drill and dia. 8.5 mm bit.

Pull the connector lock - arrows 1 -.
