Place old oil collecting and extracting device V.A.G 1782 beneath transmission.

Remove transmission fluid filter housing.

Note:

Before removing filter housing from transmission, tip it slightly in its seating. This allows oil to flow back into transmission from filter
housing.

Slowly lift the transmission fluid filter upward and off.

Note:

There is an O-ring in the filter suction collar. Make sure the O-ring does not remain stuck in the transmission (remove the old O-ring if
necessary).

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

Replace the transmission fluid filter.

Coat the O-ring -arrow- in the intake collar on the new filter with transmission fluid before inserting it into the transmission.

Install transmission fluid filter with the seat facing downward -arrow-.
