Shift selector lever from "P" to "S". 

-

Check protective boot of selector lever cable at front of selector mechanism for damage, and replace cable if necessary.

Place selector lever in position "P".

‹› Selector mechanism and selector lever cable must move freely. If necessary, replace selector lever cable or service selector mechanism => [

Loosen bolt - B -.

-

Shift lever/selector shaft on transmission into "P" position. 

-

Turn both front wheels in one direction (e.g. by pushing vehicle forward) until the detent lever in the transmission engages the parking lock gear
and the wheels lock up (cannot be turned together in one direction). 

‹› With clamp bolt - B - loosened, shift mechanism selector lever must remain in position "P", otherwise adjustment will be incorrect.

Carefully move selector lever forwards and backwards slightly without shifting to a different selector lever position.

‹› This loosens the selector lever cable.

-

Gently tighten the bolt - B - to 13 Nm.

‹› When tightening bolt - B - make sure position of selector lever cable does not change again.

-

Assemble all components in reverse sequence.
