Piston, Rear Brake Caliper

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Resetting and extracting tool (T10165)

‹› Disassembly wedge (3409)

Removing

-

Screw piston out of brake caliper housing by turning knurled wheel counter-clockwise.

Install reset and screw out tool so that the collar of the tool is seated on piston.

‹› If piston is difficult to move, use a 13 mm open end wrench on flats -  arrow A - provided for this purpose.

Remove oil seal using disassembly wedge (3409 ).

Installing

-

The surface of the piston and seal must only be cleaned with mineral spirits and then dried.

-

Thinly coat piston and seal with lithium grease ( G 052 150 A2) before inserting.

-

Insert oil seal in brake caliper housing.
