Exhaust Pressure Regulator Vacuum Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Exhaust Flap Vacuum Diaphragm, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213)

Test Sequence

‹› Vacuum lines and hose connections free of leaks.

‹› Vacuum lines not plugged.

Disconnect hose on vacuum diaphragm for exhaust flap at rear muffler.

Connect hand vacuum pump to vacuum diaphragm.

-

Generate vacuum using hand vacuum pump.

‹› Linkage must move upward.

-

Vent the hand vacuum pump.

‹› Linkage must move downward.

If linkage does not move:

-

Check the linkage for ease of movement and check the vacuum diaphragm for leaks.
