A/C control head, part number "8P0 820 043" with index or up to index "C"

‹› Installed in vehicles equipped with a Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107) with part number "4E0 907 539"

From November 2003, the production was changed over to Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107), part number " 8P0 907 539".

‹› From November 2003, a modified Sunlight Photo Sensor (G107) and a modified Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control head was

installed. Only Sunlight Photo Sensor (G107) with part number 4E0 907 539 must have been/must be installed for A/C control heads Climatronic
Control Module (J255) with part number without or up to index "C". Sunlight Photo Sensor (G107) with part number 8P0 907 539 or part number
"4E0 907 539" may be installed on a Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control head with part number starting with index " D" ,
Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 under "Guided Fault Finding"

‹› If the assignment between the Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107) and the A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) is incorrect, the

A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255)will not be able to evaluate the signal from the Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107) and the
A/C system control will be incorrect Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 under "Guided Fault Finding".

‹› Installed in vehicles equipped with a Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107) with part number "8P0 907 539"

From November 2003, the production was changed over to Sunlight Photo Sensor (G107), part number "8P0 907 539".

‹› Pay attention to the correct allocation for the Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107) (see previous note).

‹› This A/C control head may be installed in vehicles with a Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107), part number " 4E0 907 539" (note adaptation)

‹› Installed on vehicles equipped with a Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89)

From MY 2006 the Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) is discontinued.

‹› From MY 2006, the Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) has been gradually discontinued, on vehicles without this temperature

sensor, only the Climatronic Control Module (J255) with part no. as of index "M" is or may be installed.

‹› On vehicles without a Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) a Climatronic Control Module ( J255) display and control head with part

number up to index " L" is installed, an entry in the DTC memory occurs => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 under
"Guided Fault Finding"

‹› Installed in vehicles without and with Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89).

From MY 2006 the Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) is discontinued.

‹› These A/C control heads may also be installed in vehicles with a Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89).

‹› Installed in vehicles equipped with a Air Flow Flap Motor (V71)

As of the end of model year 2007, the Air Flow Door Motor (V71) has been discontinued as a running change.

‹› To the end of model year 2007, the Air Flow Door Motor (V71) is being discontinued as a running change, on vehicles without the Air Flow Door

Motor (V71) the air flow door (fresh air door) is actuated via a curved washer and lever of the Recirculation Door Motor (V113) => [
Recirculation Flap Motor ] See: Air Door/Air Door Actuator / Motor/Description and Operation. Therefore note the correct allocation of the
Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control head, if the allocation or the adaptation is not OK this is detected during basic setting and
stored as a malfunction. Refer to Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 under "Guided Fault Finding".

‹› On vehicles without Back Pressure Flap Motor (V71 ), a Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control head with part number up to

index "AD" installed, a fault is entered into the DTC memory.

‹› Installed on vehicles with a air distribution housing, A/C system with a door in the air vent to the instrument panel defrost vent with side cut-out.
