Starting in November 2007, as a running change, an A/C air distribution housing with a flap inside the air vent leading to the instrument panel
defroster vents without a side cut-out is being installed. Refer to => [ Air Distribution Housing Defroster Outlet Flap ] See: Housing Assembly

‹› Pay attention to the correct allocation, an A/C control head with part number "8P0 820 043" up to index "AD" may not be installed in a vehicle

equipped with an A/C system air distribution housing with a door in the air outlet to the defrost vent in the instrument panel without side cut-out.

‹› If an A/C control head with part number "8P0 820 043" up to index "AD" is installed in a vehicle with an A/C system air distribution housing with

a door in the air outlet to the defrost vents in the instrument panel without a side cut-out, then the window could fog up in the winter because of
insufficient air quantity.

Other installation requirements:

‹› Installed in vehicles equipped with a Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107) with part number "8P0 907 539". 

‹› From November 2003, the production was changed over to Sunlight Photo Sensor (3241) (G107), part number "8P0 907 539" (see previous note).

‹› This A/C control head may be installed in vehicles with a Sunlight Photo Sensor (G107), part number "4E0 907 539", note the adaptation.

A/C control head, part number "8P0 820 043" starting with index "AE" up to index "AH"

The production was changed over starting in June 2007 to the A/C control head with part number "8P0 820 043" starting with index " AE".

‹› Installed in vehicles with and without Air Flow Flap Motor (V71) (note adaptation).

‹› To the end of model year 2007, the Air Flow Door Motor (V71) is being discontinued as a running change, on vehicles without the Air Flow Door

Motor (V71) the air flow door (fresh air door) is actuated via a curved washer and lever of the Recirculation Door Motor (V113) => [
Recirculation Flap Motor ] See: Air Door/Air Door Actuator / Motor/Description and Operation. Therefore note the correct allocation of the
Climatronic Control Module (J255) control head, if the allocation or the adaptation is not OK this is detected during basic setting and stored as a
malfunction Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

‹› An A/C control head Climatronic Control Module ( J255) with part number as of index "AE" may have been or may be installed in vehicles with

and without Air Flow Door Motor (V71). So that no DTC for Back Pressure Flap Motor (V71) is entered in DTC memory, the adaptation of the
Climatronic Control Module (J255) display and control head must be corrected Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
under "Guided Fault Finding".

‹› If on vehicles without or with a Air Flow Flap Motor (V71) the A/C control head adaptation Climatronic Control Module (J255) is performed

incorrectly, then there will be an entry in the DTC memory.

‹› These A/C control heads may also be installed in vehicles with a Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89).

‹› With this version of the A/C control head, there is an ECON button; the ECON button illuminate with the A/C system is switched off.

‹› On vehicles equipped with a 2.0L TFSI engine (engine code "CAWB "), only an A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) with

software version "0430" (on Audi A3 and Audi A3 Sportback) is or will be installed. If vehicle with this engine have a Climatronic Control
Module (J255) with software version "0420", then the control of the compressor is shut off by the Climatronic Control Module (J255) due to an
unfounded request from the engine control module (the control current is limited to 300 mA, until the pressure in the refrigerant circuit exceeds
approximately 7.5 bar) and the A/C cooling performance is unacceptable to the customer.

‹› Installed on vehicles with an A/C air distribution housing having a flap in the air vent leading to the instrument panel defroster vents with and

without a side cut-out (note the adaptation).

‹›  Starting in November 2007, as a running change, an A/C air distribution housing having a flap inside the air vent leading to the instrument panel

defroster vents without a side cut-out is being installed. Depending on the version of the flap (with or without a side cut-out), the Climatronic 
Control Module (J255) display and control head may need to be adapted. Refer to Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
under "Guided Fault Finding" If the adaptation is performed incorrectly, the windshield could fog up in the winter due to insufficient air.
