Fuel Filter with Fuel Reduction Valve Assembly Overview, FSI from 06.04 and TFSI

In fuel systems without return flow for vehicles with FSI engine as of 06.2004 and TFSI engine, fuel reduction valve is positioned in fuel filter. In this
system, only the supply line is routed forward to the engine compartment. If there is a pressure increase in the supply line above 6 to 6.8 bar, the fuel
reduction valve opens. Excess fuel is routed into a return line from the fuel filter and back into the fuel tank.
