Crash Sensor for Front Side Airbag

‹› Driver side: Driver side side airbag crash sensor (G179)

‹› Passenger side: Passenger-side side airbag crash sensor (G180)

Removing

-

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off.

-

Remove door trim. Refer to => [ Front Door Trim ] See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door Panel/Service
and Repair/Front Door Trim. 

-

Disconnect electrical connector - 4 - on crash sensor. 

-

Remove the bolts - 1 - and - 3 -. 

-

Remove crash sensor for front side airbag.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

‹› For proper crash sensor (pressure sensor) function, ensure door does not leak.

‹› All components (e.g. cover, speaker, door trim) must be installed correctly. 

‹› The door trim clips seal the system. Replace door trim clip if necessary.
