Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off.

Vehicles without side airbag:

-

Remove lower C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /
Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Trim.

Vehicles with side airbag:

-

 Remove rear side airbag. Refer to => [ Rear Side Airbag ] See: Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Rear Side Airbag. 

All:

-

Disconnect electrical connector on crash sensor.

-

Remove bolts - 2 - (Qty. 2).

-

Remove rear side curtain airbag crash sensor.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

Vehicles without side airbag:

-

Install lower C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Lower C-Pillar Trim, Vehicles without Side Airbag ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /
Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Trim.

Vehicles with side airbag:

-

 Install rear side airbag. Refer to => [ Rear Side Airbag ] See: Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Rear Side Airbag.

CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may
deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. 

‹› If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
