Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (VAG 1331)

Removing

-

Remove left rear wheel.

-

Remove left wheel bearing housing. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing ] See: Wheel Bearing/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Rear Suspension/Wheel Bearing Housing.

‹› The following work steps are described for the left side of the vehicle. These work steps also apply simultaneously for right side of vehicle.

Remove nut - 1 - and pull coupling rod -  2 - out of stabilizer.

‹› Do not loosen bolt - arrow - on tie rod - 3 - on right side of vehicle.

Remove bolts - arrows - for stabilizer clamp.

Thread stabilizer bar toward left out of subframe.

‹› When threading out stabilizer bar, ensure subframe surface is not damaged. Correct any possible paint damage.
