CAUTION!
Do not let the drive axle hang down. The inner joint could be damaged if it is bent too far.

Pull the drive axle out of the splines and remove it.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following: 

-

Replace gasket - 1 - on the transmission pins.

First install the drive axle on the transmission side.

-

Tighten hex flange bolts - 1 - to 20 Nm.

Tighten drive axle hex combi bolt. Refer to => [ Drive Axle Hex Combination Bolt, Loosening and Tightening ] See: Service and

Tighten drive axle twelve-point bolt. Refer to => [ Drive Axle Twelve-Point Bolt, Loosening and Tightening ] See: Service and
Repair/Procedures/Drive Axle Twelve-Point Bolt, Loosening and Tightening.

On vehicles with automatic headlamp range control, perform a headlamp basic setting.
