‹› Secure drive axle to body using wire.

-

Remove wheel bearing housing with ball joint.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following: 

Wheel Bearing Housing and Wheel Bearing Unit, Tightening Specifications. Refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing and Bearing Unit Assembly
Overview ] See: Wheel Bearing Housing and Bearing Unit Assembly Overview.

Tightening Specifications, refer to => [ Subframe, Diagonal Brace, Stabilizer, Transverse Link, Bracket and Level Control System Sensor Assembly
Overview ] See: Body and Frame/Frame/Subframe/Front Subframe/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Subframe, Diagonal Brace,
Stabilizer, Transverse Link, Bracket and Level Control System Sensor Assembly Overview.

Tighten drive axle hex combi bolt. Refer to => [ Drive Axle Hex Combination Bolt, Loosening and Tightening ] See: Axle Shaft
Assembly/Service and Repair/Procedures/Drive Axle Hex Combination Bolt, Loosening and Tightening.

Tighten drive axle twelve-point bolt. Refer to => [ Drive Axle Twelve-Point Bolt, Loosening and Tightening ] See: Axle Shaft Assembly/Service
and Repair/Procedures/Drive Axle Twelve-Point Bolt, Loosening and Tightening.

On vehicles with automatic headlamp range control, perform a headlamp basic setting.

On vehicles with Audi magnetic ride, reprogram control position.
