Oil in Bevel Box, Draining or Filling after Repair - 6 Spd. Direct Shift A/T 02E All Wheel Drive

Note:

Oil in bevel box need only be drained off for repair work. It must not be changed: filled for life!

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Used oil collection and extraction device V.A.G 1782

^

Protective glasses

Draining oil

^

Vehicle on a flat surface

^

Selector lever in position "P"

^

The engine is switched off.

-

Drive vehicle onto a 4-column lift or over a work pit so that it is absolutely level.

Remove center noise insulation fasteners -1 to 3-.

CAUTION
When working in vicinity of cooler, always ensure clearance to fan. Fan can switch on by itself - risk of injury!

Place old oil collecting and extracting device V.A.G 1782 beneath transmission.

CAUTION
Wear protective glasses.
Wear acid-resistant protective gloves.

Remove drain plug -A-.

-

Allow transmission fluid to drain off. 

Filling oil

-

Install bolt -A-, tightening specification.

Remove oil filler plug -B-.
