Amplifier: Testing and Inspection

Inside Microphone, Bose, Checking

Audi A3 with "Symphony II BOSE(R)" radio system use Inside Microphone (R74) integrated with the front interior lamp module. The microphone is
connected directly to Amplifier (R12).

Amplifier (R12) then adjusts the BOSE (R) sound settings according to changing interior noises. When noise increases in the interior, the amplifier
automatically adjusts the volume according to the sound pattern.

The interior noises are minimized and the sound quality increases. 

When the radio is switched on, the Amplifier (R12 ) checks the voltage supply level of Inside Microphone (R74). If the result is OK, there is no
reaction.

If the microphone is not installed, or if there is an open/short circuit, three short tones are emitted three times.

 Inside Microphone (R74), checking:

Switch on radio and tune to clear, strong station.

Set volume level to approximately "20".

Tap lightly on front interior lamp module.

Radio volume should increase. Process occurs slowly.

Stop tapping.

Radio volume should decrease. Process occurs slowly
