Brake Pedal and Brake Booster, Separating

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Release tool (T 40024)

Separating

-

Remove driver side storage tray: => Body Interior

 68 Removal and Installation

-

Remove brake light switch by rotating it 45° toward left.

Remove brake light switch => [ Brake Light Switch ] See: Lighting and Horns/Brake Light Switch/Service and Repair.

-

Disconnect brake pedal from brake booster using release tool (T 40024).

-

Guide in release tool (T 40024) and press together, while pulling brake pedal toward driver seat. (The brake pedal will thereby be pulled off ball
head of push rod.)

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, with special attention to the following:

Joining brake pedal to brake booster

Hold ball head of push rod in front of mounting and push brake pedal in direction of brake booster, so the ball head locates audibly.
