Fuel Gauge Sender: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Level Sensor 2, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand-held multimeter (V.A.G 1526C)

‹› Connector test set (V.A.G 1594C)

Test Sequence

Remove rear seat bench 

-

Unclip retainers - arrows - of cover for left sealing flange.

-

Disconnect electrical harness connector - 1 - at locking flange.

‹› Ignore - 2 -.

Vehicles through approximately 11/2004:

‹› On vehicles with 2-wire technology, the connector for Fuel Level Sensor 2 (G169) is equipped with 2 terminals.

Connect multimeter between terminal - 1 - and -  2 - for resistance measurement.
